This website is to give you all information on the inaugural YMCA "Kyle's Kids at the Y" golf tournament. For those of you that don't know me, I am Kelly (Kyle's big sister). I will be the one updating you on everything that is going on.
A little background first...
When Kyle passed away, our family knew we wanted to start a charity in his name. Our decision was pretty simple really...you see, Kyle always loved kids. He loved to teach and he loved being a summer camp counselor. He worked at Trinity Lutheran Church (at their Son Fun program) and he also worked at the YMCA summer camp. When we were kids, Kyle and I went to camp every summer...and I couldn't have imagined a childhood without all those amazing camps. We had an absolute blast each and every summer.
A couple months after Kyle passed, my family and I approched the YMCA about starting a fund in Kyle's name. This fund would help underpriveledged children pay for summer camp...to let them get the same great experience Kyle and I had as children and to help keep them out of trouble during the summer months when school is out. The YMCA was overjoyed at the idea and took us in with open arms. We named the fund "Kyle's Kids at the Y". The YMCA organized a dedication ceremony and a plaque now hangs in the Boynton Beach YMCA.
The YMCA of South Palm Beach County has its charity golf tournament every year. Well, this year, and every year hereafter, they are going to make it the Kyle's Kids at the Y golf tournament.
Here is the info:
When: Friday, May 20, 2011 Shotgun start at 1pm
Where: Sherbrooke Golf and Country Club

Dinner:
After golf, there will be dinner (with raffle prizes) held at the Sherbrooke. The golf should go from 1pm to 5pm and then the dinner should start promptly afterwards.
If you would like to attend the dinner, please let me know ASAP (by Monday, May 9th). The cost is $35 and checks can be made payable to YMCA of South Palm Beach County.

After Party:
On Friday night following the golf tournament, we’ve got a big room reserved for us at the Lantana Ale & Sports Bar (not associated with the Ale House brand). The details are summed up below:

When: Friday 5/20 Right after the tourney/dinner approx 8pm till ???
Directions (from Sherbrook or I-95):
· Head east on Lantana Rd
· Go straight thru the traffic light at Dixie Hwy
· Turn into parking lot on right side (parking lot surrounded by 4’ concrete wall)
· Parking lot is behind the Sports Bar (much closer than it looks in the picture)
Please pass this along to any others who may be interested. Like we’ve said before, this will give us a place to get together for the evening to catch up with friends and celebrate Kyle.
